ISO 14001 certificates are a voluntary standard that sets out criteria for Environmental Management System (EMS). It maps out the framework that an organization can follow to set up an effective EMS. The guideline helps to reduce the impact on the environment. Ahmed Group has greatly vested in the well being of the environment and the impact Ahmed group has on it. That is why all the subsidiaries under the Ahmed Group umbrella have set up a strict and effective Environmental Management System (EMS), including policies and objectives, and thus have become a beacon of sustainability in Bangladesh.
The STANDARD 100 by OKEO-TEX® was introduced in 1992. It is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels. For consumers, products certified according to STANDARD 100 by OKEO-TEX® guarantees extensive safety regarding the harmlessness of textile products and reliability of it. Ahmed Group always goes the extra mile to ensure that the products created by them are free of any harmful substances that could enter consumers body and adhere to its standard thoroughly.
Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) is a project that was initiated in 2005 by the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) to lay the foundation for a socially and ecologically sustainable cotton production in Sub-Saharan Africa and establishes trade relationships between international textile companies and smallholder farmers on a level playing field. The initiative builds up an alliance of partnering textile companies. Their core principle is ‘Helping people to help themselves’. Ahmed Group believes in giving a hand for improving people’s lives and is proud to maintain the standard of CmiA and carry the CmiA quality label.
The Better Cotton Initiative is a non-profit initiative that exists to not only help make global cotton production better but also for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in, and better for the sector’s future. The initiative now represents 12 % of global cotton production worldwide. Their partners include H&M, Gap, IKEA and include funding partners from USAID. Ahmed Group is proud to be in their ranks and implement the policies and standard that is set by the Better Cotton Initiative.
The Organic Content Standard 100 applies to any non-food product that contains at least 95% certified organic material. It verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product and tracks the flow of raw material from its source to the final product. Ahmed Group, in its products, uses 100% organic material and is proud carries the OCS 100 logo. Also, the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading, and distribution of a product is strictly maintained according to the OCS 100 protocol.
“The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is intended for use with any product that contains at least 20% Recycled Material which addresses input material verification, a chain of custody, environmental principles, social requirements, and labeling for textile products made from recycled materials. It aims to be a full-product standard for recycled material content that balances rigor and practicality for the industry and end consumers”.
“The RCS-100 (Recycled Claim Standard) is projected for use with any product that contains at least 5% Recycled Material. Each stage of production is required to be certified, beginning at the recycling stage and ending at the last seller in the final business-to-business transaction. The goal of the RCS-100 is to increase the use of Recycled Materials. The RCS uses the chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard.”
Ahmed Group Textile Division is committed to implementing the policies and standard that is set by the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) as well as the RCS-100 (Recycled Claim Standard) to produce Yarn from wastage fiber.
